Average rating 4. 18 · 177 ratings 13 reviews | Start your review of Transformers: The IDW Collection, Volume 3 After the underwhelming second volume I was hoping for a better showing from Vol 3. It was indeed an improvement. The artwork is quite good throughout the volume. But, as with any story, it is the story itself that makes or breaks the volume. Thankfully the stories are rather good. Apparently the Decepticons have entered the third phase of their takeover of Earth. Told in the tale of an over-arcing story intersperced with some short stories of individual Transformers. I rather enjoyed the story a.. All the spot light one shots were fun to read. The Transformers & Avengers crossover was medicore… It was the only part that was not written by Simon Furman and i got bored only at that part. The Devistation Adventure after The TF & Avengers crossover was the best Transformeres event i have ever read so far. I really enjoyed it. Poor Sunstreaker… I hope The Autobots will save him from the mechanisation organisation.

One of Grimlock's captions typos "strength" as "strenght" (amusingly, it's shortly after he notes damage to his vocal processor). This was corrected for the trade paperback release. As Scorponok boasts about his upgraded speed, his speech balloon is partially cut off at the edge of the page, truncating some words. This was fixed for the trade paperback release. Other trivia After the story is an IDWords section about The Reign of Starscream. Contains the Transformers: Mosaic "Rank". Advertisements originally stated that Grimlock and Mirage's Spotlight s were "1 of 2" and "2 of 2", respectively, due in March 2008. Due to a delay in Grimlock's, Mirage's was released first (March 5) and Grimlock's was pushed back to 7 weeks later. [1] Amusingly, both the Mirage ad and the " Focus on: Decepticons! " ad retain their "March 2008" notes. Even the IDWords section features releases for March. Covers (2) Cover A: Grimlock in front of Scorponok's shadow; art by Marcelo Matere. The Transformers: Maximum Dinobots - Transformers Wiki
There the children were able to command Maximus to stop. The Human Element When the Decepticons launched an attack on the Autobot base, the Build Team was called to a predetermined location with the rest of the Autobots to spring a trap on their foe. When the Megastar joined the fight, they formed Landfill, who was promptly blown apart by the battle station's firepower. Surprise Attack! After the defeat of the Megastar, Landfill was formed again to fight the Decepticons while Omega Prime engaged in combat with Galvatron. Galvatron unleashed his cyber-bats, causing Prime to call a retreat, and the Autobots found themselves trapped in a space bridge tunnel rapidly filling with molten lava. Although they escaped, Galvatron soon had them at his mercy again. Galvatron's Revenge As Galvatron attempted to attack Optimus Prime, Landfill and the other Autobots blocked his attack and were paralysed by Galvatron's power. They remained in this state until Omega Prime was able to defeat Galvatron in the Earth's core.
However, Simon Furman later threw doubt on this plan, [1] and Chris Ryall eventually confirmed its abandonment. [2] The numeration of the TPB now remain the only indication of an actual reading order of the different arcs. Though Revelation was numbered with the other Spotlight s, both it and Maximum Dinobots spin directly out of Devastation. The series nicely wraps up most of the outstanding plots created by Simon Furman. In 2010 he said that while he'd had to condense the Dead Universe plots, all the Dinobot and Machination stories got to be handled more or less how he'd intended thanks to Maximum. [3] Other than an issue of All Hail Megatron Coda, this series represents Simon Furman's last work for the IDW G1 Universe he created. Maybe it really is OVER, FINISHED? Shane McCarthy has said he heard of Maximum when he was writing #9 of All Hail Megatron, and believes Simon was writing this mini-series with the plot of All Hail Megatron in mind. [4] This did mean Hunter ends up with a nasty fate in All Hail around the same time Maximum Dinobots is coming out!
Hot Rod tracks him down and he is beaten to a pulp for his efforts. Sunstreaker and Hunter are also after the Machination to recover Sunstreaker's real head, which would also stop the Headmaster army. Scorponok gives the Dynobots too much mental control and they recover their personalities, but the group is overwhelmed by the Headmaster army until help arrives from the Monsterbots, whom Grimlock contacted earlier. Skywatch activates Shockwave and, using a bomb implanted in his head, coerces him to hunt down the renegade Transformers. Shockwave doublecrosses them however, tracks down Soundwave and makes a deal to free them both from their respective "prisons". The Dynobots, badly injured, have the Monsterbots take them to Scorponok's base, where a prideful Grimlock leads an attack on the Sunstreaker clones. Sunstreaker himself meets up with Hot Rod, and breaks in, searching for his head. Scorponok damages his new body, but Hunter escapes, and seemingly sacrifices Sunstreaker to deactivate the clones.
Grimlock tried to reason with Wedge, but soon fell prey to the hallucinations himself. Eventually they broke through to a cavern containing Fortress Maximus and formed Landfill to fight the Decepticons who then arrived. Fortress Maximus Grimlock and the rest of Build Team subsequently hid Fortress Maximus in a huge building in the middle of the city. Koji Gets His Wish Supermegahyperultra Robo Headsmash Attack of Doom, go! With Doctor Onishi recovered, the Build Team and Autobot Brothers began a race to locate the last five O-Parts. Grimlock successfully dug up the second O-Part. A Friendly Contest The Build Team accompanied the Autobot Brothers on a mission to find Cerebros beneath an ancient temple. This was fortunate, as the Decepticons caved the temple in on top of them, and the Build Team were able to dig the Autobots out. They subsequently helped to guard Fortress Maximus. To no one's surprise, the Decepticons attacked, and Build Team formed Landfill to help see them off. Maximus Emerges When Scourge made a second attempt to control Maximus in the Sahara desert, the Build Team and Team Bullet Train picked up a large number of children and took them to the site via the global space bridge.
